Threads Features That You Should Know Helps In Privacy And Security

Instagram’s Threads: If you have created your account on Threads, then we are telling you about some of its important features which you must know so that you can make maximum use of the app. Some of these features will improve your privacy. Meta launched the Threads app on July 5 in more than 100 countries. The app has crossed a userbase of 150 million. Currently you can run threads only on Android and iOS.

This feature will come in handy

  • Private Profile: You can keep your profile open or private in threads. On keeping private, only those people who follow you will be able to see your posts etc. This is an important feature for privacy.
  • On threads, you can choose who can reply to your posts. Like the people you have mentioned, everyone or the people you follow.
  • You can hide, mute, and report useless accounts. Many times we get wrong messages from unknown accounts which bother us. With the help of these options, you can ban such account.
  • Threads allows users to automatically block posts containing offensive words and phrases. This makes the platform even more secure. To block custom offensive words and phrases, go to Privacy under Settings, then Custom offensive words and phrases, and turn it off.
  • Repeated ringing of app notifications causes irritation. In this case, you can turn off push notifications for up to 8 hours. With this you will not get any notifications related to the app and you will not have any disturbance.
  • If you use the app a lot, then you can use the Take a Brake option, so that your screen time will not increase and your health will also be good.

New features will be available in threads soon

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri said in a Threads post that the company will soon update users to a timeline that shows posts from people you follow, a button to edit posts, and the ability to search for posts. The update to edit posts will be particularly important as this feature is paid on Twitter. Means only blue tick users get it.
