New SUVs from Hyundai and Kia: South Korean automakers Hyundai and Kia are soon going to launch several new utility vehicles in the Indian market. While Hyundai will enter the new micro SUV segment, Kia is going to give facelift upgrades to its existing SUVs Sonet and Seltos.
Kia Seltos Facelift
Kia will launch the new Seltos facelift in the country in July 2023, which is already on sale in select international markets. The India-spec model will get a new front fascia with a tiger nose grille and new LED DRLs. The new Kia Seltos will get a completely new interior, with a new dashboard layout with a connected screen along with the infotainment screen and instrument console. Along with this, electric sunroof and advanced driver assistance system will also be available in it. The new model will get a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 160PS and 253Nm of torque. Along with this, the existing 1.5L NA petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines will continue to be available.
Kia Sonet Facelift
The company has started testing the Sonet facelift on Indian roads. The updated model will get an upgraded interior with design changes and new features. It will get a new front and rear look with styling inspired by the new Seltos. It will get a completely new interior with a new touchscreen and instrument console. It will also get new 16-inch alloy wheels. However, there will be no change in its powertrain.

Hyundai Motor will enter the micro SUV segment on July 10, 2023 with its new Xtor. This car will be built on the company’s K1 platform, on which the Grand i10 Nios is also based. The car will get features like 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control, a digital instrument console, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice-commanded electric sunroof, segment-first dashcam and automatic AC. It will get a 1.2L petrol engine, which will generate an output of 82bhp and 114Nm. It will get the option of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. Along with this, CNG option will also be available in it.
Hyundai Creta Facelift
Hyundai will launch the new Creta facelift in the country by February 2024. It will be different from the global model and will also get India-spec changes. The updated model is likely to get a new front fascia with styling inspired by the new Verna. It will get a wide grille with parametric pattern, H-style headlamps with split setup and H-style DRLs, new tailgate with sharp tail-lamps and revised boot lid. Along with this, many safety features with ADAS technology will be available. It will get a 1.5L turbo petrol, a 1.5L NA petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine option.
