2024 Toyota C-HR: Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor showcased its second generation Toyota C-HR in December 2022 through the Prolog concept. Now the pictures of its production model have been released. The new model of the crossover has been designed and developed in Europe and will go on sale in the first half of 2024. The 2024 Toyota C-HR has evolved a lot in terms of design and powertrain compared to the concept model. It will now get a dual-tone color scheme and 20-inch alloy wheels, while retaining the sporty styling of the previous model. The panel has been gapped with better integration of sensors, cameras and headlight washers and has also improved its aerodynamics.
Dimension
The length of the new 2024 Toyota C-HR will be 4360 mm, width 1830 mm and height 1558 mm to 1564 mm. Like its previous model, it is quite big. However there is no difference in overall length. Its wheelbase length is 2640 mm.
Features
It features a connected 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, JBL sound system in higher trims, HUD (head-up display), a panoramic sunroof and 64-color ambient lighting. The new GR Sport Premier version has been given a sporty red treatment on the inside and outside along with the GR badge.
powertrain
In Europe, the 2024 Toyota C-HR will be available only with a hybrid powertrain. It will get a plug-in hybrid with a 1.8L generating 140bhp power and a 2.0L hybrid generating 198bhp power with FWD setup and optional AWD system.
Toyota’s future plan for India
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has no plans to bring the C-HR to India. This year, the company plans to introduce the Maruti Suzuki Fronx-based micro SUV. Toyota’s Franks Edition will get some cosmetic changes, which are likely to be inspired by the Europe-spec Toyota Yaris Cross. Along with this, the company is also preparing a 7-seater SUV which will be based on the TNGA-C modular platform with Innova Highcross. Along with this, the company is also preparing to bring the next generation Toyota Fortuner.
who will compete
In the global market, the Toyota C-HR will compete with the Volkswagen Tigun, which gets a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI petrol engine option.
