Tata Motors: India’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors is working on a plan to increase its product lineup in the country. The company has announced that it is going to bring 10 electric vehicles in the next five years. Under this plan, the company is preparing to bring its existing three SUVs to the electric version. Which includes Punch, Harrier and Safari as well as Sierra EV, Curve EV, Altroz EV, Avinya based EV and many other models.
Tata Punch EV
The electric version of the Punch is expected to go on sale during this year’s festive season. Which the company is currently testing, whose interior and exterior will get inspired changes from the Curve concept. The spy pictures reveal that the center of the Micro EV will get a new two-spoke steering wheel with a new logo. It will also get a 360-degree camera, a rotary drive selector and an electronic parking brake. It can give a range of about 300 km on a single charge.
Tata Harrier EV
The Tata Harrier EV concept was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo alongside the Curve and Avinya EV concepts. This car will come to the country next year. Harrier EV will be based on Tata’s Gen 2 platform. Most of the design elements of this electric SUV will be similar to the concept. It will get a host of features including a new blanked-off grille, split headlamps with new LED light bar, an updated bumper, EV badges on the fenders, flush door handles, bigger wheels.
Tata Safari EV
The electric version of the Tata Safari will be similar to the Harrier EV. It will be built on the heavily re-engineered OmegaArch architecture of the Sigma/Gen 2 platform. Significant changes will be made in its exterior and interior according to the EV. The Safari EV is likely to come with vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging capabilities. A battery pack of about 60 kWh can be found in it. It is likely to get a range of about 400-500 km.
who will compete
The Tata Punch EV will compete with the Citroën E C3, which offers a range of 320 km per charge. Its ex-showroom price starts from Rs. 11.50 lakhs.
