Kia Motors Sales Report June 2023: South Korean automaker Kia Motors India last month reported a 19 percent year-on-year decline in vehicle sales in June 2023, although MoM sales increased by 3 percent. In June 2023, Kia India sold a total of 19,391 units of cars, which is 19 percent less than the 24,024 units sold in June 2022. But this is 3 percent more than the 18,766 units sold in May 2023. The company is about to launch the new Seltos facelift in the market, whose booking will start from July 14.

Karens leading the way

Kia did the highest sales of Carens MPV in June 2023. Whose total 8,047 units were sold. In June 2022, 7,847 units of this car were sold. Whereas with 6,367 units sold in May 2023, there was 26 percent less sales than the previous month. Recently, the company has recalled the Carens for some software related issues. These include 30,297 units of the Cairns made during the period from September 2022 to February 2023. Number 2 among the best-selling models for the company was the Kia Sonnet, which sold 7,722 units in June 2023, up 4 percent from 7,455 units sold in June 2022. However, its MoM sales have declined by 6 percent as against 8,251 units. The company is currently testing the Sonet mid-life facelift, which will be launched in the next few months.

Kia Seltos sales have fallen by 57 percent to 3,578 units in June 2023, compared to 8,388 units sold in June 2022. Its MoM sales have also declined by 12 percent as compared to 4,065 units in May 2023. However, there has been an increase in the sales of the Kia EV6, where only 1 unit was sold in June 2022, while in June 2023 it sold 44 units. But this is 47 percent less than the 83 units sold in May 2023.

Seltos facelift will be launched

The Kia Seltos has been on sale in India since 2019 and has not received any upgrades yet. Now the 2023 Seltos facelift has been unveiled and will be launched soon. It will get more powerful engine with more safety features and facilities. This car will compete with Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Highrider, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Volkswagen Taigun. Also, no change has been made in Kia Sonnet since 2020, whose facelift version will be launched soon.
