New Honda Shine 125 launched: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today launched its OBD2-compliant Honda Shine 125 bike in the domestic market. Its starting price is Rs 79,800 ex-showroom. OBD2-standard engines have been made compulsory for two-wheelers in India from April 1, 2023. Since then, two wheeler makers are updating their vehicles with the new on-board diagnostic system (OBD2-A) and launching them in the market. The company has introduced the new Honda Shine 125 in only two variants.
Honda Shine 125 Warranty and Color Options
The company is offering a 10-year warranty package (3 years standard + 7 years optional extended warranty) for the new 2023 Honda Shine 125 bike. That is, customers can avail a total warranty of up to 10 years for the bike. While talking about its color option, this budget bike has been introduced in a total of five colors, these colors include Matt Axis Grey, Black, Genie Gray Metallic, Decent Blue Metallic and Rebel Red Metallic.

The company has used a 125 cc PGM-Fi engine in this bike as per the new Real Driving Emission OBD2-standard. Which is equipped with enhanced smart power technology. This engine generates maximum power of 10.3 hp and maximum torque of 11 Nm, which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Along with this, the engine has also been given friction reduction technology, in which it creates less friction due to the piston cooling jet. Because of which the temperature of the engine is maintained. According to the company, the use of offset cylinder and rocker roller arm reduces the damage caused by friction. Due to which the engine generates good performance and better electricity. Also improves fuel efficiency. Which means better mileage can be expected from this bike. However, no official information about the mileage has been given by the company.
Honda Shine 125 Features
Talking about the features, the bike has been introduced with Honda ACG motor for silent start. Due to which there is not much noise on starting the bike. Along with this, it gets features like halogen headlamp, start/stop switch and fuel gauge, analog speedometer. The bike now rides on 18-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. Apart from this, telescopic forks have been used at the front and five-step adjustable hydraulic-type shock absorber suspension at the rear. Talking about the braking system, it now gets a combi-braking system with equaliser, along with 130 mm drum / 240 mm disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear.
