Indian Government Will Recover 469 Crores From 7 Electric Two Wheeler Manufacturers Due To Violet Fame Ii Norms

Electric Two-Wheeler Subsidy: The central government has asked 7 electric two wheeler companies to return Rs 469 crore. These companies also include companies like Hero Electric and Okinawa. The reason for which these companies are not meeting the FAME II rules. On the other hand, if these companies do not return this money to the government, then they can be de-registered in the next 7-10 days and they will not be included in this scheme further.

According to the revelations made in the investigation by the Ministry of Heavy Industry, these companies had violated the rules to take the incentive received under the FAME scheme.

According to the rules, under the FAME scheme, those electric two wheeler manufacturing companies were to be given the benefit of incentive, who are using Made in India components in their two wheelers. While these companies have used imported parts.

According to the official information given by the government, 6 companies were found completely correct in the investigation, while 7 companies were found guilty of violating the rules. That’s why they have been asked to return Rs 469 crore and they will have to return this money to the government.

These seven companies include companies like Hero Electric, Okinawa Autotech, Ampere EV, Revolt Motors, Benling India, Amo Mobility and Lohia Auto.

The ministry had to start this investigation when several anonymous mails were received, in which it was claimed that many electric two wheeler companies are taking incentives despite not following the rules of FAME II. Whereas the purpose of this scheme is to promote domestic manufacturing. After this, the ministry stopped the subsidy for some time.

At the same time, out of these seven companies, 2 companies have approached the ministry and asked to return the incentive along with interest.

On the other hand, it has been clarified by the government that the government is not stopping any of these from manufacturing, but now these companies will not be given the benefit of incentive under this scheme.
