New Generation Mahindra XUV500: Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to bring many new SUVs in the Indian market. Out of which testing of some models has also started. These include the 5-door Thar and the XUV.e8 EV. The 5-door Mahindra Thar will be launched in early 2024. However, the launch timeline of the XUV.e8 EV is yet to be confirmed. Recently a new Mahindra Coupe SUV has been spotted during testing. It could be the upcoming electric SUV (from the BE range) or the new generation Mahindra XUV500.

Wants to make a hold in the mid-size SUV segment

Mahindra had discontinued the XUV500 after launching the XUV700 in 2021. However, to compete with popular SUVs like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, Mahindra is preparing to bring its 5-seater model back to the market. Along with this, the hold of vehicles like Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Highrider is getting stronger in this segment. Honda Elevate and Tata Curve SUVs are also going to be launched in the next few times.

Mahindra is preparing to enter the growing market of mid-size SUVs. Whose codename is S301 (XUV 500). The company’s new 5-seater SUV is likely to be around 4.3 meters in length, similar to the Hyundai Creta. The company can use the XUV300 platform and engine in it. Currently, the XUV300 is offered with a 1.5L diesel (117bhp) engine, a 1.2L turbo petrol (120bhp) engine, and a 1.2L turbo petrol T-GDi (130bhp) engine. The same engines can be tuned to generate additional power and torque in the new Mahindra XUV500.

When will it be launched

As of now, the official launch details and key specifications of the new Mahindra XUV500 are yet to be revealed. It can be launched sometime in 2024. Its ex-showroom price is expected to be between Rs. 11 lakh to Rs. 19 lakh.

who will compete

This car will compete with Hyundai Creta, in which a diesel and a petrol engine option is available. It will be launched in the facelift version next year.
