Honda Motors: Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda Motors has struggled a lot in the last few years to maintain itself in the Indian market. But braving all odds, the company is now planning to expand its lineup with the launch of several new products in the country. Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of Honda Cars India recently revealed that the company has a ‘strong product strategy’ and aims to bring five new SUVs in the country by 2030. The first model to come under this scheme will be the Honda Elevate, which will go on sale in a few months.

There will be entry in electric segment

Honda Cars India is going to enter the electric vehicle segment in the next three years. The company has informed that its EV lineup will also include the electric version of the Elevate SUV. For this, the Japanese automaker is working on plans to introduce premium global models through CBU (Completely Built Up) and CKD (Completely Knocked Down) routes in the country.

Dealership network will be updated

Honda Cars India has made a huge investment of Rs 260 crore to upgrade its dealership network including introducing a new customer interface at its showrooms. Currently, the company has around 326 touchpoints across 238 cities in the country, and Tier 3 cities account for 30 per cent of its total sales.

Two new products will be launched

As we know, Honda Elevate will be the next big launch of the company in India. This SUV will compete with models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Harrier, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Tiguan. After this, the company will bring the new generation Honda Amaze to the market in 2024. Hyundai Creta is currently the best selling car in this segment, to compete with which Honda is going to bring its new SUV. The Creta is offered with a diesel and a petrol engine option. Its electric model is also expected to hit the market by the end of next year.
