The frame of these new Triumph motorcycles is built on a hybrid spine/circumference frame made of tubular steel. The Speed 400 gets 17-inch wheels at either end. All that wrapped in premium and sporty Metzeler Sportec M9RR rubber. While the Scrambler gets 19-inch/17-inch alloy wheel combo, shod in Metzeler Karoo Street tyres. The same suspension has been used in both the bikes. In which a 43 mm big-piston is available. The Scrambler is slightly heavier at 179 kgs as compared to the Speed’s 170 kgs.
Design
Features on both the new bikes include all-LED lighting, ride-by-wire, switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS, an immobilizer, an assist clutch, a USB-C charging port and semi-digital instrumentation. There is a large analog tachometer on the dash which is placed next to a small LCD screen. The screen houses a digital tachometer, a gear position indicator, trip data and a readout for the fuel gauge. In the Scrambler, the company has used dual-channel ABS for off-road use.
