Toyota Hyrider Waiting Period: Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched its mid-size SUV Urban Cruiser Hyrider in India in the second half of 2022. People have been liking this car a lot since its launch. Initially everything was good for this car, but now customers are being given a long waiting period for its delivery, due to which people are now paying more attention to its other options. Due to this, the market of Hyrider is getting spoiled, but the biggest benefit is being given to Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara, because both these cars are built on the same platform, and the design and look of both are very similar. On the other hand, the waiting period of some variants of Toyota’s Innova Highcross MPV is more than 1.5 years. That is, you will have to wait a long time for this.
Hirider waiting period
According to a report, currently customers are being given a waiting period of 12-18 months for the strong hybrid variant of the Hyrider and up to 8-10 months for the mild hybrid version.
Maruti is taking advantage
Many people are preferring to buy Maruti Grand Vitara instead of waiting more for Toyota Highrider. Its waiting period is much less than that of Hyrider. Customers are being given a waiting period of 4 months for the Delta manual variant of the Maruti Grand Vitara, 2 months for the mild-hybrid Zeta trim and only 1 month for the mild-hybrid range-topping Alpha trim. While its automatic transmission variants are getting a waiting period of 4 months. At the same time, for its CNG and Strong Hybrid version variants, customers will have to wait only for 2 months.
Big jump in sales of Grand Vitara
The long waiting period has resulted in a sharp drop in sales of the Urban Cruiser Highrider, while the Grand Vitara has benefited from it. In May 2023, only 3090 units of the Hyrider were sold, while the Grand Vitara sold 8,877 units during the same period.
how is the powertrain
The Hyrider gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is equipped with strong hybrid technology. E-CVT gearbox has been given with it. It generates a combined power of 114 Bhp. It gets mileage of up to 27.97kmpl. It also gets the option of a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine and CNG.
who competes with
The car competes with the Hyundai Creta, which is offered with a petrol and a diesel engine option and is the best-selling car in the segment.
