New Toyota SUVs: Toyota has confirmed that it will soon launch a new Century SUV in its Century sedan line-up. Its debut can happen by the end of this year. It will be sold alongside the new SUV Century sedan, which has been in the market since 1967.

Will be sold outside Japan as well

The new SUV will be the company’s second product with the Century-badge after the popular Century sedan. It is sold in Japan. However, unlike the sedan, the Century SUV will be offered as a global product. The company will use this to expand the Century brand to other markets outside Japan. The same strategy was used by the company to expand its Crown brand as well. Which is sold in many markets including North America.

Will be equipped with luxury and comfort features

Media reports suggest that it will be a monocoque SUV, which will be designed to be more city centric and a different driving experience than off-road. The Century SUV is expected to go a long way in terms of more space and comfortable features and will provide a great experience to the customers.

Toyota can use the same monocoque architecture platform for this new SUV, on which the Toyota Grand Highlander SUV is based. Both of them will have the same wheelbase, but this SUV will be bigger than the Grand Highlander. According to sources, this SUV will be around 5.2 meters long and two meters wide.

Currently, the Century sedan comes with a V12 petrol engine, but this engine will not be used for the SUV. The new Toyota Century SUV will be equipped with a petrol-hybrid powertrain.
