Compact SUV Sales Report: The sub 4 meter SUV/crossover segment accounts for the largest number of vehicles sold in India. There are a lot of options available in the market in this segment. Today we are going to tell you about the top 10 best selling SUV cars in June 2023 here. Let us see the complete list of these top selling SUVs.
best selling nexon
Tata Nexon led the sales in the segment last month with 13,827 units, a YoY decline of 3.27%, as against 14,295 units sold in June 2022. It was followed by Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza SUV, which sold 10,578 units during the last month, registering a huge growth of 140.19% on an annual basis. Although it has recorded a decline of 21.05% on a monthly basis. Its market share is 12.04 percent.
4th place punch
Hyundai Venue sold 11,606 units in June 2023, ranking 3rd in the segment, registering a YoY growth of 12.45% and 13.64% MoM growth. It was followed by Tata Punch with sales of 10,990 units, registering an YoY growth of 5.53%, while registering a decline of 1.20% MoM. It was followed by the long-popular Bolero SUV with sales of 8,686 units. It saw an YoY growth of 802 units and MoM of 516 units. The recently launched Maruti Suzuki Franks has also received a very good response in the market. It sold 7,991 units last month, however, registering a MoM decline of 18.98% at 1,872 units.
Increased sales of Kia Sonnet
Kia Sonnet’s sales were sold at 7,772 units with an annual increase of 3.58%. It sold 7,455 units in June last year. However, there has been a MoM decline of 6.41% in its sales. It was followed by the Mahindra XUV300 which sold 5,094 units in June 2023 and saw a YoY growth of 7.15%, but a 2.88% decline in sales on a MoM basis.
Thar outsells Jimny
Thar vs Jimny is currently the most talked about topic in the segment. But in the last month, Thar has won in terms of sales and it sold 3,899 units, 828 units more than Jimny, while Jimny sold 3,071 units. Thar sales saw a YoY growth of 7.12% and a decline of 9.24% MoM.
Magnite and Kaiger lag behind
Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger ranked at the bottom of the top 10 list. During this period, 2,552 units of Magnite and 1,844 units of Kaiger were sold. Magnite sales saw a YoY decline of 23.39% and 2.52% MoM decline, while Kiger sales registered a YoY decline of 45.94% and 7.65% MoM growth. Overall, 87,860 units of the sub 4 meter SUV were sold. It saw an YoY increase of 25.68% with higher sales of 17,951 units while a decrease of 1,454 units saw a MoM decline of 1.63%. The segment is expected to witness further sales growth over the next few months post the launch of the Nexon facelift and XUV300 facelift.
