New Generation Toyota Vellfire: Select Toyota dealers across several Indian cities have opened bookings for the new generation Vellfire MPV, which recently made its global market debut. Dealers told us that the stock of the existing Vellfire is almost over and customers who had booked for the older model are being informed to upgrade to the new Vellfire. According to sources, the unofficial booking amount has been kept at Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh depending on the outlet. The deliveries of this MPV are expected to start towards the end of September 2023.
New Toyota Vellfire Looks
The new Vellfire is based on Toyota’s TNGA-K modular platform, which is lighter than its predecessor. The styling remains the same, but the new model is slightly longer than the previous one. Due to its cab-forward design, the Vellfire has a three meter long wheelbase which can seat six people comfortably. It gets a large 6-slat grille, which covers most of the front of the MPV. It gets multiple rounded edges and a redesigned glasshouse with more chrome detailing.
Interior & Comfort
The new Vellfire gets a simpler dashboard with fewer buttons than the outgoing model as most of the features can now be controlled from the large centrally located touchscreen. According to Toyota, the new Vellfire is more luxurious than ever. It gets a new more comfortable seat design, a larger overhead console for the passengers to control various functions, multiple AC vents and redesigned pull-down sun shades.
The Executive Lounge package of the Vellfire will continue to be offered in India. It also gets two separate heated and ventilated captain seats along with a foldable table for the second row. There is also a new detachable control center where passengers can adjust media and settings and the sunshade.

The new Vellfire will be available with two engine options – a turbocharged 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that generates 275hp power and 430Nm of torque and another 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol-hybrid that produces 250hp. Generates power. These will be offered with CVT gearbox and e-CVT transmission respectively. A 2.5-litre petrol hybrid version will be available in India.
when will launch
Some dealers told us that they have already received some information about the new MPV, but the company is yet to reveal any specific details about its launch. It is expected that it can be launched soon in the coming weeks.
who will compete
The MPV competes with the Mercedes V-Class, which is offered with a 2.0L diesel and a 2.2L diesel engine option. It is available in 8 variants and its ex-showroom price ranges between Rs 71.05 lakh to Rs 1.46 crore.
