Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X: Triumph has recently introduced two of its new bikes, the Triumph Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X globally in London. These upcoming bikes will be developed in partnership with Bajaj-Triumph, they will be manufactured in India only. The company has officially started pre-booking for both its bikes, while the prices will be revealed on July 5, 2023.
Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X: Bookings and Expected Price
Booking of Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X can be done by visiting the official website of Triumph India with a refundable token amount of Rs 2,000. When launched, the Speed 400 will be the most affordable Triumph motorcycle in India and is expected to be priced around Rs.3 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Scrambler 400X will be slightly costlier than the neo-retro roadster.
Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X: Engine and gearbox
Both the Bajaj-Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X motorcycles are powered by a 398cc, DOHC architecture liquid-cooled engine. This engine is capable of generating 39.5 bhp at 8,000 RPM and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and will also get a slip and assist clutch.
Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X: Hardware and features
These new 400cc motorcycles from Triumph get 43 mm upside-down (USD) front forks and a gas-charged mono-shock absorber at the rear. For braking, disc brakes will be available on both the wheels with dual channel ABS. Talking about the features, all-LED headlamps, an analogue instrument cluster with LCD, a switchable traction control system and much more will be seen.
Who will compete with?
This bike will compete with Royal Enfield’s bike and KTM 390, which gets a 373.4cc engine, which generates 42.9 bhp power and 37 Nm torque.
