Mercedes Benz Revealed Their CLE Coupe And Cabriolet

Mercedes Benz CLE Coupe: Luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new CLE class in both coupe and cabriolet body styles. The new CLE is an important part of strengthening the ICE engine range for the company, increasing the investment for the new all-electric model.

Design

The new CLE comes with a very special look, which gets styling elements similar to the current E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet. It gets a large grille with shark nose effect, a long bonnet, a heavy circular roof with a circular C-pillar and a sharp angular window at the rear, which connects to the bootcap with a sloped design. Its length is longer than the company’s C- and E-Class coupes.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLE 2+2 layout has been given, with integrated headrests, heating and 4-way lumbar support in the newly designed front seats. Its dashboard design has a C-Class design layout with 12.3-inch instrument and 11.9-inch portrait-style infotainment display. However, it has a lot more space on the inside than the C-Class Coupe. It gets 420 liters of boot space.

Mercedes-Benz CLE Powertrain

Four models have been introduced in this line-up, in which seven rear and four wheel drive options have been given with 4 and 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The rear-wheel-drive CLE 200d is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel engine that generates 197 hp power and 440 Nm torque. Also, it has a 2.0-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine with rear-wheel-drive, which generates 204hp power and 320 Nm torque.

This same engine also powers the four-wheel-drive CLE 300 4Matic. Which generates 258 hp power and 400Nm torque. The top-end model of the line-up gets a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine, producing 380hp power and 500Nm torque, mated to the all-wheel drive CLE 450 4MATIC. The company claims that the top speed of this car is 250 kmph and it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds. All engine options are mated to a 48V mild-hybrid system. The electric motor fitted in it gives an additional output of 23hp and 200Nm. A 7-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox has been given in all variants.

Mercedes-Benz CLE Specifications

The new CLE is based on the company’s MRA platform and is used in the recently introduced E-Class, along with the existing C-Class. This is one of the last few ICE models of the company. The new CLE gets a steel suspension set up with a double-wishbone design at the front and a multi-link at the rear. It is largely similar to the C-Class, but is 15 mm lower in height.

who will compete

There is no expectation of the new CLE coming to India at the moment, but it can be brought to the Indian market later. It will compete with the BMW 4 Series Coupe. In which a 3.0L 6-cylinder diesel engine is available with four wheel drive system.
