Maruti Suzuki Will Launch Their Premium MPV Engage On July 5th In India

Maruti Engage Launch: Maruti Suzuki will next launch the Toyota Innova Highcross-based MPV in India. It has been spotted in spy shots outside Toyota’s Bidadi factory. The company has already informed that its name could be Engage. Toyota will make this MVP for Maruti Suzuki India.

How will be the design?

The Maruti Engage will get a honeycomb mesh design, dual chrome bars and a huge grille with a large Suzuki logo at the centre. The grille is integrated with the front bumper, and features a chin shaped design with a wide air dam and fog lamps. Its horizontal daytime running lamps and indicators are similar to the Hycross.

Engine and Powertrain

Clear information about the powertrain of this car has not been revealed yet. But the new Maruti MPV is expected to come with the same powertrain options as the Toyota Innova Hycross, which includes a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine generating 173hp power, and a hybrid engine generating 183hp power . There is also an option of CVT or e-CVT gearbox with this engine.

Toyota already has a pending order of over 1,20,000 units for the Innova Crysta and Highcross. Which means that initially it will be available in small quantities for Maruti Suzuki. On the other hand, Toyota has started an additional shift at its Bidadi plant to reduce the huge order backlog.

Price and Launch

Maruti Suzuki currently sells the Ertiga and XL6 MPVs in the MPV segment. The new Hycross based MPV will be the most premium offering from the company. The Innova Highcross currently ranges between Rs 18.55 Lakh to Rs 30.00 Lakh. The most expensive vehicle currently offered by Maruti Suzuki is the Grand Vitara Hybrid Alpha+ with a price of Rs 19.79 Lakh (Ex-showroom). The new MPV will be the costliest car from Maruti.

who will compete

This car will compete with Mahindra’s XUV 700 SUV, which has both diesel and petrol engine options. Along with this, many advanced features are also available with ADAS technology.
