Mahindra Thar: Mahindra will reveal its much-awaited Thar 5-door on Independence Day this year. The company will showcase this new SUV in South Africa. While its sales are expected to start in 2024. Along with India, this new SUV will be exported to many other markets as well and it is a strategically important new car for Mahindra. To differentiate it from the Thar 3-door, it could also get a new name instead of the Thar branding. The 5-door will be quite different from the current Thar, will be bigger and will get more seats and doors. Also, a lot of changes have been made in its design. The exterior design of this car will be changed which will be very different in comparison to the 3-door version.

Its interior is likely to be more premium and it will get more features. Apart from a sunroof and a rear camera in the Thar 5-door, new design seats will also be available with many new features. The Thar 5-door version will also get more apps than the current Thar. Mahindra will also likely change the suspension setup of the Thar 5-door.

Will get the same powertrain

Engine options on the new Thar will remain the same as those found on the 3-door version, as they are already quite powerful. The Thar 5-door will be priced slightly higher than the Thar 3-door. Its other features and details will be known in detail at the time of its unveiling in South Africa. The new Thar 5-door, which will be launched next year, has already been spotted several times during testing. However, it will get a sunroof as well as many other major changes and other details.

Will not launch this year

Mahindra will not launch any new car this year as the company is currently focusing on reducing the backlog of pending orders for several of its popular cars like the Scorpio N, Thar 3-Door and the XUV700.
