Jabalpur News: On Wednesday, the CBI team has received about Rs 80 lakh cash from the houses of CGST Deputy Commissioner Kapil Kamble and 4 Inspectors who were caught taking Rs 7 lakh bribe. 3 lakh from Deputy Commissioner Kamble’s house, about 40 lakh from Inspector Pradeep Hazari’s house, 18 lakh from Inspector Vikas Gupta’s house, lakhs of rupees from Inspector Virendra Jain’s house also. CBI investigation is going on in the matter. Today the accused will be produced in the CBI court.
In fact, on May 19, the GST raided the KGH factory at Nohta in Damoh district on charges of tax evasion. During this, the Central GST had sealed the factory and demanded a bribe of one crore in lieu of giving clearance. The GST team seized the car along with the factory, after which a final deal was struck with the GST officer for 35 lakhs. Out of the fixed bribe amount of 35 lakhs, a bribe of 25 lakhs was given by the complainant Trilokchand Sen a week back. After this, on being harassed, the businessman lodged a complaint with the CBI.
On receiving the complaint, on Wednesday, the CBI team raided the Central GST Office in Jabalpur. During this, the CBI arrested the Deputy Commissioner of Central GST and 4 Inspectors red-handed while taking a bribe of 7 lakhs. The team caught Sumil Goswami, Vikas Gupta and Kapil along with GST Deputy Commissioner Kapil Kamle. Information has been received about two houses and plots of Deputy Commissioner Kapil Kamle. The CBI also received Rs 28 lakh in cash from the GST office.
