Honda Activa Total Sales: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced that it has crossed the sales mark of 30 million Honda Activa scooters. Which is a big achievement for the company. Honda introduced this scooter in India in 2001. Since then till now it has dominated the market for 22 consecutive years. In 2005-06, this scooter crossed the sales figure of one million units.

22 years of Honda Activa’s journey

The company updated its scooter in 2008 with 110cc engine and equalizer plus combi braking system. After which in 2013-14 it was re-introduced by the company as Activa-i scooter with better transmission.

After this, in 2015, the company made some changes in its design and re-launched it in the market with a 125cc engine. After this, the company introduced its 5G version in 2017-18, in which many new features were offered. In which there was LED headlamp and position lamp, digital analog meter with 4-in-1 lock as well as seat opener switch.

In 2018-19, taking this forward, the company introduced Honda Activa with BS-6 with Silent Start Technology. In which features like start/stop system, side stand indicator and engine inhibitor were given. After this, Honda celebrated the 20th anniversary of Honda Activa 6G with its limited edition in 2019-20.

This scooter had entered 2.5 crore homes in its 20-year journey, giving a new identity to the brand, after which the company launched the premium edition of Activa 125 in 2021-22. Currently, the Honda Activa is available with OBD2 compliant engines. With this, the company has made a record of selling 3 crore units.
