Harley-Davidson X440 Launched: After a long wait, Harley-Davidson’s most affordable bike Harley-Davidson X440 has been launched. The company has kept the initial price of this bike at Rs 2.29 lakh. The Harley-Davidson X440 will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness CB350. The bike is significant as it is the company’s first made-in-India bike, which has been developed in partnership with Hero MotoCorp.

Harley-Davidson X440 Variants

The company has launched this bike in three variants Classic (wire-spoke wheel), Vivid (alloy wheel) and S (diamond-cut alloy), the entry level Classic variant costs Rs 2.29 lakh. Whereas the price of Vivid variant is Rs 2.49 lakh. The fully-loaded S variant has been priced at Rs 2.69 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom.

Harley-Davidson X440 Engine

The Harley-Davidson X440 is powered by a 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 27bhp at 6,000rpm and peak torque of 38Nm at 4,000rpm. This engine is more powerful than the RE Classic 350. The bike gets chain drive as seen on Harley Pan America.

For the braking system, disc brakes have been given in both the wheels. The bike gets dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as standard with side-stand engine cut-off function. At the same time, it has 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with MRF tyres. The new Hero-Harley bike is based on the tubular trellis frame.

What is special about Harley-Davidson X440 bike?

The bike gets mid-set footpegs and flat handlebar. Its retro-styled round headlight, LED DRL bar in the middle and a round speedo on the top, muscular fuel tank and wide handlebar look similar to the Harley-Davidson Nightster. It gets round shaped indicators and mirrors and oval shaped tail lamps. The new Harley-Davidson bike gets a single stepped seat with thick grab rails on either side. Some of its special features include a circular instrument cluster with a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity (in the top-end variant).

Who will compete with?

The Harley-Davidson X440 will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness CB350.
