Diesel Car Driving Tips: Due to the implementation of the second stage BS6 norms in the country, many car companies have removed the diesel engine from most of their models. But still there are many such cars, which are present in the Indian market with diesel engines. Also, there are already a large number of diesel cars on the roads. They drive in a slightly different manner as compared to petrol cars. So today we are going to tell you about some such mistakes which people who drive diesel cars often do while driving.
don’t keep the tank empty
Diesel acts as a lubricant for engine components, and if the oil level is low, the fuel pump in the tank can send air into the combustion chamber instead of fuel. This can cause damage to engine parts. If the oil in the tank is less, then the engine can be damaged more. That’s why it is always advised for diesel engined cars to keep sufficient amount of diesel in the tank, so that there is no damage to the internal parts of the engine and the fuel pump.
start engine carefully
Many people start taking more races as soon as they start the car, doing this is fine for petrol engines, but this habit can cause huge damage to diesel engines. After starting the diesel engine, it should be given time to warm up for a while, this increases the life of the engine, and makes it more prone to damage. Giving more race at the start can lead to early wear of the piston, piston rings, valves and cylinders of the engine.
RPM and gear ratio
When driving a diesel engined car, low RPM causes major damage to both the engine and the gearbox. This puts more pressure on the engine, due to which its performance deteriorates and the life of the engine also reduces rapidly. Therefore, keep the combination of RPM and gear according to the user manual of the car.
