threads: Meta has launched Twitter’s competitor app Threads in more than 100 countries on Wednesday evening. It works exactly like Twitter. Seeing the design and working, people are calling it a copy of Twitter and social media is flooded with memes. Meanwhile, if you are also thinking of using Meta’s new app, then just know one important thing. Meta says that users can deactivate their threads profile at any time but it cannot be deleted. That is, it will be deleted only when your Instagram account is deleted. If you delete threads without knowing, then your insta account and years of hard work related to it can be wasted in a jiffy.
Let us tell you, Threads is a part of Instagram in which users can login with the help of Insta ID, as well as copy Instagram data such as profile picture, bio etc. Note, deactivating threads profile will not make your profile visible to any other user. But your data will be stored on Threads server. That means the company will have all your information.
You can deactivate like this
- First of all go to the profile section of the app and here click on the 3 dots visible on the top right corner
- Now click on the Account section. Here you will see the option of deactivate profile. Confirm by clicking on it. This way your profile will be deactivated and no one will be able to see you on threads.
Advertisers happy to see userbase
Meta has connected threads to Instagram, with the help of which its userbase is huge. In less than a day, the app has more than 30 million users. Mark Zuckerberg said that he is sure that soon the app will cross 1 billion traffic and it will also emerge as a popular social media platform. Here advertisers are happy to see the userbase of threads and this is not good for Twitter. Twitter is already battling for advertisers. In such a situation, the userbase of threads can create more problems for the company.
