Audi Electric Cars: According to a PTI news, German luxury carmaker automobile company Audi will launch its electric SUV Q8 e-tron in India next month, to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio in the country. Whose date can be 18 August. On this day, the company will launch its Q8 e-tron in two body types – Q8 e-tron SUV and Q8 e-tron sportback, which will give more range with 114kWh pack as compared to the current 95kW battery e-tron.
The company is strengthening its portfolio of electric vehicles. The options which are available globally are also being brought to our customers in India. So that the company can sell more and more vehicles. The Q8 e-tron is the latest offering from Audi and will be brought to India as part of the company’s plans. Currently, Audi India’s EV portfolio includes the e-tron 50, e-tron 55, e-tron Sportback 55, e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT. The Q8 e-tron will go through the CBU route and will be one of the top-end variants in the portfolio.
Audi has further decided to focus only on petrol and electric vehicles, which is part of the company’s goal of becoming an all-electric vehicle company by 2033. With the Q8 e-tron, the company is starting its journey of next generation (electric) cars, due to which India will see more electric vehicles in the coming times. Audi is fast becoming the choice of customers in the luxury electric segment in India. Cars after this are being sold at an average price of Rs 1.5 crore, which is a segment with limited customers. That’s why the percentage of vehicles sold by the company is very less in terms of numbers, but it is increasing gradually. Due to which we will eventually become a completely electric car company one day. Therefore, the company’s focus remains on making the e-tron a strong brand in India.
The e-tron, along with the rest of Audi’s electric vehicles, is becoming increasingly popular not only in metro cities but also in B and C grade cities and towns. Audi has registered a 97 percent increase in retail sales in India in the first half of 2023 at 3,474 units. While 4,187 units were sold in 2022 and 3,293 units were sold in 2021.
