The Nifty 500’s top performers for the year are the defense-focused companies Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Varun Beverages, Karur Vysya Bank, UCO Bank, and Finolex Cables, which have produced outsized profits for investors in the current financial year. Even though the Nifty 500 fell by about 4% in FY23, the five companies achieved returns of between 107 and 173% over the course of the year. The Nifty 500 represents the top 500 companies from the qualifying universe, according by total market capitalization.
The five worst-performing equities, which reduced investor value by 60–90%, include data-driven tech company Dhani Services, cloud communications expert Tanla Platforms, Gland Pharma, adtech company Brightcom Group, and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra.
Experts are particularly optimistic about VBL, Mazdock, and Finolex and anticipate that the top five gainers will continue to thrive in the upcoming fiscal year.
