AC Cabin Will Be Mandatory In Trucks From January 2025 Government Issued Draft

Truck Drivers AC Cabin Mandatory: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a notification saying that from January 1, 2025, the air condition system in the cabin of N2 and N3 category vehicles will be mandatory. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has made this announcement in view of the condition of the truck drivers who are struggling in the summer season. Now air condition will be made mandatory in the truck cabin of all the drivers.

“The draft notification states that, N2 and N3 category vehicles manufactured on or after 1st January 2025 shall be fitted with an air-conditioned cabin, as well as testing of the air-conditioned cabin from time to time as per IS14618:2022. will be done accordingly.”

Who are N2 and N3 category vehicles?

N2 Category : In this category, those heavy goods vehicles come whose total weight is more than 3.5 tonnes and less than 12 tonnes.

N3 Category : Heavy goods vehicles with a gross weight of more than 12 tonnes come under the N3 category.

Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had said on July 6 that the draft notification has been approved to make air condition system mandatory in the cabin of trucks.

The tweet said, “The draft prepared includes trucks under N2 and N3 category. The draft notification has been approved to make air condition system mandatory in the cabin of trucks belonging to N2 and N3 category.” Truck drivers play an important role in ensuring road safety. Gadkari further said, this decision will prove to be a milestone for truck drivers to work comfortably and comfortably, which will improve their efficiency and also solve the problem of fatigue.
