The Rs 1,551-crore IPO of Ahmedabad-based pharmaceutical firm Concord Biotech opened for public subscription today, while the Rs 1,025-crore IPO of Mumbai-based non-banking finance company SBFC Finance opened on Wednesday. According to bankers, the primary market mood is now better with the market.

IPO demand increased in two-three months

Ajay Saraf, head of investment banking at ICICI Securities, said the demand for IPOs has picked up again in the last two-three months with a strong market amid uncertainty in interest rates and inflation.

IPOs of these companies came in July

Last month, four companies raised Rs 2,213 crore. 500 crore public issue of Utkarsh Small Finance was subscribed 111 times, while 631 crore of Netweb Technologies was subscribed 91 times. Even the public issue of Senco Gold, which raised 405 crores, was also subscribed 77 times. However, the Rs 380 crore IPO of PKI Ventures was canceled due to weak demand.
