Maruti eVX Speed: Maruti Suzuki is preparing to bring its first electric car. It is expected to arrive in the second half of 2024. This electric SUV is based on the eVX concept displayed at the Auto Expo. Recently it was seen during testing in Southern Europe. During this it is covered with a thick black cover. Although its overall silhouette looks similar to its concept model. Some more changes are expected to be made in this.
Design
Talking about the design of the Maruti EVX concept, it has a blanked-off grille, V-shaped headlamps, LED DRLs and a square hood. It also gets wheel arch cladding, sloping roofline that connects to the raked rear windscreen and tailgate. The design of the bumpy cladding on the side profile could be improved. Along with this, it is also expected to get bigger size tyres. High ground clearance and short overhangs have been given in this electric SUV. Its length will be around 4,300 mm, width 1,800 mm and height 1,600 mm.
powertrain
Maruti Suzuki has already announced that the eVX SUV will get a 60kWh battery pack, which should give an estimated range of around 550 km. However, the production model is expected to get a realistic range of around 500 km. Its entry-level variant can be given a smaller capacity battery pack of around 48kWh, which is expected to get a range of around 400 km. According to a report, Suzuki Motor Corporation is preparing to invest Rs 100 billion in the country for the production of batteries for its upcoming electric cars.
who will compete
Maruti Suzuki will enter the electric SUV segment in India with the EVX. Post-launch, it will compete with Tata Curve and Hyundai Creta EV, both of which are currently under testing and will also be launched in 2024.
