BMW X5 Facelift The Unofficial Bookings For BMW X5 Is Started Before Its Launch On July 14th

BMW X5 Facelift Launch: BMW India is going to launch its new X5 facelift on 14th July. This car will be launched in two variants, X5 40i and X5 30d. It has already been introduced in the global market. Unofficial bookings have already started at some dealerships for which customers will have to pay a token amount of Rs 50,000.

Compared to its older model, the new facelift version gets a new bumper, in which the air intake design has been made more attractive, and vertical lines have been given in it. It gets BMW’s signature design with slim headlamps and DRLs. At the same time, the central air intake has been made bigger. It hasn’t changed much at the rear, though the tail lamp gets a new LED treatment. Its kidney grille, which is similar to the i7, will be offered only for the X5 40i model. Along with this, 21-inch alloy wheels will also be available in it.

The biggest change in its interior will be seen in the infotainment unit. It has BMW’s new twin curved screen display which is seen in many new models of the company. Very few physical controls have been given in its dashboard. The center console will get a glass toggle switch instead of the conventional gear lever for the drive selector. Its infotainment unit will be equipped with iDrive system version 8.0.

The India spec X5 will be offered with a petrol and a diesel engine option. Both are in-line, 6-cylinder engines. The X5 30d gets a 3.0-litre diesel engine, which generates 286hp power and 650Nm torque, and the petrol engine in the X5 40i generates 381 hp power and 520 Nm torque. The facelifted SUV will get a new 8-speed automatic gearbox and BMW’s xDrive four-wheel-drive system as standard. Also, this engine will be equipped with a mild-hybrid system consisting of a 48V battery and an electric motor. With the hybrid system, it gets an additional output of 12hp and 200Nm.

The current BMW X5 has been on sale since 2019, and this is the first facelift update for the SUV. In FY2023, X5 sales are expected to register a growth of 57 percent and sell over 1,000 units. However, this figure is less than its rival, the Mercedes-Benz GLE, which sold over 2,000 units last year. On-road prices of the current X5 model are over Rs. 1 crore and the facelifted model is expected to be priced slightly higher.

who will compete

This SUV will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLE, in which a 2.0L diesel, a 3.0L diesel and a 3.0L petrol engine option is available.
