Toyota Kirloskar: Toyota Kirloskar Motors has released the sales report of its vehicles for June 2023. The company has registered an annual growth of 18.75 percent in sales in India due to models like Glanza, Urban Cruiser Highrider, Innova Crysta, Innova Highcross, Hilux, Fortuner, Camry and Vellfire.

Last month, the company’s car sales increased to 19,608 units on an annual basis, which is 3,096 units more than the 16,515 units sold in June 2022. This number is also 1.18 percent higher than the 19,379 units sold in May 2023. Sales have seen a boom due to Toyota Highrider and Highcross.

Sales increased on a quarterly basis as well

Toyota has registered a 32.80 percent increase in sales in the second quarter of 2023 as well. Total sales during this period increased to 55,528 units, which is 13,715 units higher as against 41,813 units sold in the second quarter of 2022. While it is also 18.99 percent more than the 46,665 units sold in the first quarter of 2023. In the last 6 months, the company’s sales have seen a significant increase. Due to high demand for both Toyota Highrider and Highcross, there has been an increase in sales. Toyota’s sales in the first 6 months of this year increased by 36.46 percent to 1,02,371 units, which is 27,354 units more than the 75,017 units sold in the first 6 months of 2022.

Demand for other cars also increased

Apart from Highrider and Highcross, Camry sedan, Vellfire and Glanza also saw an increase in demand. Late last month, the company also showcased the Hilux with a 2.8L diesel engine with mild hybrid technology at the 7th round of the World Rally Championship in Kenya. To increase the production, the company has also started the third shift at Bidadi plant, so that the waiting period can be reduced. Currently, waiting period of up to 8 months is available for Toyota Innova Highcross in cities like Noida, Indore and Ghaziabad. While Pune and Coimbatore cities have a waiting period of less than 4 months. Similarly, long waiting period is being found in other cities as well. In June 2023, the company has also partnered with financial institutions and monsoon packages for easy finance options for customers. Toyota is now preparing to launch the 2024 Vellfire and Alphard mini vans in the country. Both the models are based on the GA-K version of Toyota’s global TNGA platform and are designed for more premium, luxury and new hybrid and turbocharged powertrains.
