The Royal Enfield Hunter is a complete departure from the traditional Royal Enfield design as it is targeted towards the youth. The Hunter 350 gets a retro design with an all-black engine and sporty graphics. It is quite light, making it very easy to drive in urban conditions.
The new Speed 400 has been developed under the Bajaj-Triumph partnership. The company has opted for the name ‘Speed’ in place of ‘Street’. The Speed 400 gets a simple fuel tank and headlight setup, though a side-slung exhaust is also available.

Royal Enfield Hunter is the company’s entry-level offering but it gets a full-spec 350cc engine like the Classic. In which a 349cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine has been given, which generates power of 20bhp and torque of 27Nm with a 5-speed gearbox.
The Triumph Speed 400 gets a bigger 398cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, which generates 39.5bhp power and 37.5Nm torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Compared to the Hunter, the Triumph generates almost double the power and also gets better cooling.

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks, halogen headlights, dual-channel ABS with disc brakes on either side, 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, and a USB charger.
The Triumph Speed 400 gets LED lighting, USD forks, monoshock suspension at the rear, dual disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, a semi-digital instrument cluster, 17-inch alloy wheels, switchable traction control and a Type-C charger.
price comparison
Triumph Speed 400 is more powerful and comes with more features. However, in terms of price, the Hunter 350 costs between Rs 1.49 lakh to Rs 1.74 lakh. But Triumph has not announced the pricing of the Speed 400, though it is expected to be significantly higher than the Hunter.
