Toyota Offers Heavy Discounts On Their Hilux Pickup

Discounts on Toyota Hilux: Toyota’s lifestyle pickup Hilux is being offered by the company’s dealers this month with huge discounts. This vehicle has an important place in the Indian market. Its ex-showroom price starts from Rs.30.40 lakhs. Hilux sales started in the country in March 2022 and so far around 1,300 units have been sold. It competes with the Isuzu V-Cross in the segment, although it is priced much lower than the Hilux.

Discount on Toyota Hilux

The entry-level Hilux was priced at Rs 33.99 lakh at launch in March 2022, but a year later, Toyota re-introduced the Hilux at a starting price of Rs 30.40 lakh, a cut of Rs 3.59 lakh. The price cut has been done only for the entry-level Hilux standard 4WD MT, while the prices of the top-spec high trim have been increased by Rs. 1.35 lakh for the manual and Rs. 1.10 lakh for the automatic. After which their prices have gone up to Rs 37.15 lakh and Rs 37.90 respectively. After talking to some dealers, it was found that the Hilux is being offered with a discount of at least Rs.6 lakh. But some outlets are offering discounts of up to Rs. 8 lakh on the higher variants depending on the inventory.

Competes with the Isuzu V-Cross

The Toyota Hilux’s only direct rival at the moment is the Isuzu V-Cross, whose prices start at Rs. 23.82 lakh for the 4WD MT variant and Rs. 27.36 lakh for the top-end 4WD AT Prestige variant. The vehicle can be bought at most outlets with a discount of around Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

Toyota Hilux vs V-Cross

Taking into account the discounts available on both the models, the price gap between the top-spec Hilux 4WD AT and the Isuzu V-Cross Prestige, which was around Rs 10 lakh earlier, is now down to Rs 5 lakh as per on-road price Has gone.

Diesel engine is available in both the vehicles. The Hilux gets a 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 204hp power and 500Nm torque, while the V-Cross Prestige gets a 1.9-litre diesel engine with 150hp/350Nm output. Both the trucks come with robust off-road gear and almost identical feature list and safety kit. The Hilux gets seven airbags as against six in the V-Cross. The premium model from Isuzu gets a bigger engine, more power and more torque.
