Electric Vehicle Policy 2023 Implementation in Punjab: According to a Money Control news, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar in the Punjab government has announced that the Punjab government will give an incentive of Rs 300 crore in the next three years to promote electric vehicles. Which will help in reducing pollution.
This incentive will be given by the government on electric two wheeler, e cycle, e rickshaw, e auto and electric light commercial vehicle.
Bhullar also ordered his officials to write a letter to the Finance Department, so that the Finance Department can create a separate dedicated fund for this and promote electric vehicles in the state.
At that time, he was chairing a state-level committee constituted to implement the Electric Vehicle Policy 2023.
At the same time, according to an official, Bhullar also took information about those departments, which have been entrusted with the responsibility of electric vehicle policy. Along with this, the officials have been asked to implement it as soon as possible.
Apart from this, Bhullar has instructed Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and Punjab Energy Development Agency to set up charging stations for electric vehicles within a month and find the right place for them.
Apart from this, the Transport Minister has also ordered the officials of the Housing and Urban Department to frame a policy for setting up EV charging stations in malls and housing societies as well.
Along with this, he has also directed the Secretary, Transport and Director, State Transport to complete the process of scrapping government buses that are more than 15 years old and replacing them with new electric buses at the earliest.
